The Fax on my Max
An intro to my GXE
I own a 1993 Maxima with a VG30E engine. My car get's almost 30mpg because it's well taken care of. I got my car in January of 2000 and everything is fine and I have only had one serious maintinence expense and that was a new water pump and timing belt which was a scheduled maintinence so I wasn't really bothered at all. Other than that here and there for oil changes and fill ups and I've been good to go ever since.

My engine is currently modified with a Arospeed Muffler, Cold Air intake, and NGK spark plugs. I also have Sprint Lowering springs coupled with tokico performance shocks and struts and a warpspeed y-pipe. As far as how I care for my car, it gets all of it's regularly scheduled maintinence (oil changes, I check the fluids regularly and I have already changed the spark plugs) I don't put any kind of gas in my car except for 93 octane preferably Mobile. I always check my tire pressure but my car could use an alignment. As far as oil changes go I think that it is good to be consistant with whatever oil you put in for your first oil change since all oils are different in some way. I try to stay with mobile and get it whenever possible. These things aren't hard to do and they will lengthen the life of any car.

As far as the performance of my car goes I finally took it to the track to do the 1/4 mile alomst one full year after i purchased it. She actually performed well above my expectations. For the age and the fact that it is an automatic I was expecting high 17's or even an 18 flat, but on my first run I pulled a 17.1/79.47mph with a 60' time of 2.6 but on the second run in that very same night all i did was take out the air filter and power brake (hold the break and rev the engine to about 1200rpm) and I ran a 16.6/81.29 with a 60' of 2.5. My new best is a 16.4/81.92 with a 60' of 2.3
